Tachymeter
High-Performance Chronograph
A key feature of this model is the tachymeter bezel, which measures a maximum speed of 400 miles per hour or average speed. The black bezel, blending high technology with refined aesthetics, is reminiscent of the 1965 model with its black plexiglass bezel insert.
The new monobloc Cerachrom bezel, made of high-tech ceramic, offers numerous advantages, including superior corrosion and scratch resistance, and resistance to UV damage. Furthermore, this extremely durable bezel features PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating, providing exceptional legibility with its platinum-coated numerals and markings. The monobloc Cerachrom bezel is integrally molded, securely fixing the crystal to the middle case and ensuring water resistance.

Sundust & Black Dial
Watchmaking Techniques
The sunray finish brings a delicate light reflection to many dials in the Oyster Perpetual collection. This is achieved through a skilled brushing technique that creates grooves from the center of the dial outwards. Light is evenly diffused along each groove, creating a distinctive shimmer that subtly moves with the position of the wrist.
Once the sunray finish is complete, the dial is colored by physical vapor deposition or electroplating. A light coat of varnish completes the dial's final appearance.

Start, Drive, Stop
The ultimate racing tool watch
The Daytona chronograph's functions are operated by pushers that screw down like a crown when not in use, ensuring water resistance up to 100 meters. Pressing the start, stop, or reset buttons on the chronograph produces a crisp, sharp click, made possible by the latest technology. Rolex watchmakers have also invested their utmost technical expertise into the mechanism, ensuring the push buttons provide the perfect tactile feel and that measurement begins instantly and accurately without affecting the watch's precision.
